Days for Girls
Third Saturday at Belton FUMC
This group makes sustainable washable menstrual hygiene kits. The kits are sent to needy areas where girls do not have what they need to manage their periods.
The girls often miss 5 days of school each month and fall behind in their studies. Having the kits gives girls their dignity back.
Kits include soap, washcloths, a pair of underwear, shields & liners and instructions for their use and care.
Kits have been sent around the world, most recently to Chiapas Mexico and Bolivia. On our work days, we sew and serge flannel liners, sew shields and drawstring carry bags, and assemble kits.
Visitors and Volunteers welcome!
